Day 1: We start from the city of Salta taking RN Nº 9 where we can see the typical landscape of yungas. After pass the city of San Salvador we entering into the famous Quebrada de Humahuaca, where we the town of Purmamarca recibe us, among colorful hills. This picturesque place delights travelers with its magnificent Cerro 7 Colores, framing one of the most beautiful villages of the Quebrada.
Then, the visit corresponds to Tilcara, where we enter to El Pucará, ancient aboriginal fortress strategically located and now rebuilt for better performance. We visit the village of Tilcara and we enter the archaeological museum.
After these visits and continuing to the north, we arrive to Humahuaca, where the Independence Monument amazes us with its magnitude. We walk for the principal square, observe the cuckoo clock of San Francisco Solano and the picturesque Cathedral. Humahuaca is ideal place to stop and have lunch in a typical dining accompanied by local musicians who revel us with their altiplánica music produced by traditional instruments.
The tour continues to Iturbe, where access to the RP 133 to climb to Abra del Condor and finally descend to the magical town of Iruya.
Night in Iruya
Day 2: The next day, after walking the steep streets of Iruya, we return to Salta for the same way. Previously stopping at Uquía, where we visit the chapel and we appreciate paintings of Angels Arcabuceros.
Finally, the last stop before the arrival to Salta, is the city of San Salvador de Jujuy, where we visit the main square and the most important monuments.
