Day 1: We start the journey to the south of Salta City through the tobacco producer towns as Cerrillos, La Merced and El Carril. At Route 33 we enter to the lush landscape of Quebrada de Escoipe which leads us directly to the majestic Cuesta del Obispo, allowing the ascent to the highest point of this journey, Piedra del Molino, at 3348masl. At this altitude we can observe that the presence of cardón is constant, thats why is a protected area with over 60 thousand hectares, Los Cardones National Park. It crossed by the way called Recta de Tin-Tin (Straight of Tin-Tin), part of the Inca Trail. Finally we arrived to Cachi, guarded by eternal snow at 6380masl, in the top of the mountain Nevado de Cachi. A dreamscape with the square, the church and the anthropological museum.
Then, the tour continues to the heart of the Valleys, mainly we visit artisan villages like Seclantás, Molinos and Angastaco, forgotten in time. After these, the landscape of mountains surrounding us with the Quebrada de las Flechas and its many shapes and colors, allowing the arrival in the town of Cafayate, birthplace of wine and folk traditions.
Night in Cafayate
Day 2: The vineyards frame the landscape of Cafayate, and is obligatory the visit to the wineries to taste of a fine wine Torrontés. The return to Salta is through the majestic Quebrada de las Conchas with its infinite forms in the mountains and fabulous natural monuments such as the Anfiteatro (Amphitheater) and Garganta del Diablo (Devil's Throat). Upon the trip we enter again to the Lerma Valley and colonial architecture, plazas and churches frame the landscape of these typical salteños peoples.
